I want to add a dock to my windows screen, but I don’t know which one I should go with. I really like the stack function that rocketdock has, but I see it has not been updated since I’m biased In fact on all iterations of my Brainiac.
Best to go with the Pro version vs the free version. Much more functionality plus there are tabbed docks and Not to mention the tremendous amount of backgrounds for it. Rocketdock is good but IMO Objectdock is better. Why don’t you try them both out, while you are at it While you are checking out docks, take a look at Winstep NeXus.
Edit: what taz said. Quoting falcon7xx, reply 5 can you stack with objectdock? You can run the stacks docklet, yes. And you have native fly-out menus. You can use more than one stack per dock. You can use both OD and NeXus, the backgrounds and icons will interchange for the most part. Neither use much in the way of resources.

I’ve gotta agree with Phoon and Wizard I’ve been very happy and never looked back. Quoting Wizard, reply 9 Stand Alone stack. I have to add that the Wiz sugg is very good as you can use the StandAlone stack also with NexusDock just create the shortcut and drag it on the dock!
The StandAlone Stack was created by Chris’n’Soft using the Matonga stack library to add the stack to the “quick launch” bar. Just run standalonestack2. I’m OB paid user from a long time. RD hasn’t been updated for the last 2 years and unless it will be revived i don’t see a reason to speak about it. I’ve paid for Nexus Ultimate licence just to try it “full-featured” and support a developer as here’s not much competition on the “docket market” and it’s always good to have some.
But i’m stuck with OB. It’s best optimized dock so far. Nexus isn’t that smooth as OB is, it has problem with icon resolutions, Nexus doesn’t let launch application more than only once it’s highly demanded for explorer let’s say – especially if you can’t stack locations in lists and whereas has some other problems Nexus’s bloated with features of questionable usefulness.
So although it’s no doubt that OB needs fixes, improvements and new features it’s the best dock for today. Ya this is kinda old but I’m going to post anyways. Its hands down Rocket Dock for one reason being able to drag a zip icon to CDisplayEx on my dock to open it is a feature that should be on every dock application.
I would switch to Object Dock as it is more stable and Nexus also seems to lack that feature. I heard they removed the feature from Object Dock because it was said to be confusing, I find that frustrating. Thank you! Please check your email for a confirmation link.
